Andrea and I traveled to Jacksonville to celebrate the Northeast Florida Chapter's 35th Birthday and be a part of the PRism Awards. Lovely time and I just love the people up North. They're so much fun!

Where have I been?

Just shy of almost 800 posts and I disappear. As of late, I've been committed to taking time off which means stepping away from the laptop and all that it helps create. I'm happy to report that I've enjoyed the little break and now am back in blog-it-up! mode.

First, the year has started off all over the place. Mr. Wonderful remains, well, wonderful. Baby girl is impressing me with new skills on a daily basis. She has taught me that the simple things need to be embraced more often. Staying grounded and grateful...Two big priorities for me these days.

Second, January is by far the busiest month for birthdays for close friends of mine. To the befrie! HAPPY SUPER LATE BIRTHDAY! Would love to hear about your trip to Haiti and your birthday celebrations. To Jeremy, Steven, Doris and Daniel - Happy Birthday too! All amazing people and all born in January!

Finally, I want to turn a new leaf in putting observations together on this here blog. I mean, yes, being a mom is great but I want to get a bit better about posting other things outside of just the little one. She does completely fill my world but I'm also wanting to challenge myself to see and write about other life-filling things.

This is my first official post of 2009. Of course, the fireworks started it all off with a bang. (yes I did...it's what I do.)

Baby Girls Everywhere!

Super Mom of Twins, Gin, MyMy, the Z girls, baby girl and I got together on a quiet Sunday afternoon for a little play time. It is amazing how much older every one of them is getting! Even Miss MyMy who's in the lead for prettiest and babysitter of three. So glad I have such good girlfriends who have such sweet girls! Love you all.

So I actually got to participate in my first GNO of 2009 with my girls Gin and Tina. Both of these ladies have been in my life for over10 years and Tina has been in my life for over 20. So, a bunch of us moms headed downtown for a night out. It has been awhile but it was nice to be out and catch up without distractions and the little people needing us every two seconds. Tina is doing really well at work and super busy with her little J. He's a big kid now with energy to burn. Gin is doing great too. She has been attending a church near her home and her and little MyMy have become very involved. I love that for her since I believe it's what will bring everything together. So we headed to Orlando's finest rooftop which was nice and then headed to a new place where everyone seems to go these days. What a great night and I'm so glad that I was able to catch up with both Tina and Gin. They are fabbbuuuulous gals and I love them both!

It's December what?

Back again...Finally finished quite a few things I rambled on about below. I have a ton to post about the little one.

Every day baby girl continues to amaze me with the way she sees the world around her. I've been home for a few days and I've been giving her some down time in the morning. Usually, Mr. Wonderful and I are flying out the door to get her to school and us to work so I decided to just relax, catch my breath...Let her sleep if she wants to while I drink my coffee and catch up on blogs and a few things around the house. I still take her into school but for a few hours instead of several. She loves it there. It has been really nice and both of us start the day relaxed and refreshed. Now, if I could just figure out how to install a giant tub in my master bath. That would really be something.

I've been posting a lot of pics the last few times since lately, I've been juggling like a crazy person life at work, with a baby, finding time with friends, maintaining some kind of a social life, visiting with family and loving my one and only Mr. Wonderful. There are so many things to do and only so much time. You've heard it all before, but this December, for me, has come faster than ever and it's now Dec. 5th (HAPPY BIRTHDAY COUSIN TANYA!!) and I'm nowhere near where I usually am this time of the year on coordinating my holiday shopping, volunteering and cards. Of course, this is not a complaint...This is just the way it is right now. I'm optimistic and know it'll be fine. Because I KNOW --- I will finish my family calendar. I will get my cards addressed and sent. (I do have the stamps! Got that out of the way before Thanksgiving!) I will buy presents for the people on my list even though I am not a fan of Christmas being all about presents. It will happen. Every year, it happens.
